Zero Dark Thirty

Since this is the most recent movie I have watched, I thought it fitting to begin with as it is fresh in my memory. First off, I just want to say that initially i didn't even want to see this movie but was more or less forced into it by my mother who begged me to go with her. It isn't my kind of movie. Having said that I would also like to point out that I really enjoyed The Hurt Locker, also directed by Kathryn Bigelow. So I did have an open mind heading into the theatre. Now to get into the review: This movie consisted of two major parts. The first one being the search for Osama Bin Laden which took up most of the movie except for maybe the last 20 minutes. If I had to sum it up, it was a jumble of displaying locations across the screen (Pakistan, Afghanistan) along with a year, followed by the capture and interrogation of a member of Al Qaeda. This may sound excited to some but I found it repetitive and confusing. The last 20 minutes of the movie was the actual infiltration of Bin Laden's home followed by his murder, which I found to be a lot more exciting and captivating (no spoilers here, unless you've been living under a rock your whole life). I will say that the actors did a great job, especially one Miss. Jessica Chastain, and the dialogue was well written. Maybe this just wasn't my cup of tea.
